How do I install Hoot when I have multiple heaters in my room?
Warning: The installation of high voltage equipment should be performed by a qualified electrician. Please ensure that you comply with local electrical codes and regulations. Improper installation can lead to device failure and even cause a fire. Damage to thermostat due to improper installation is not covered under warranty.
It’s possible to wire multiple baseboard heaters to one Hoot, assuming the combined wattage is less than 3840W @ 240VAC (16A) or 1920W @ 120VAC (16A)
For example, For 240V Applications, one Hoot can control:
Two 1500 watt, 240V heaters, or
Three 1000 watt, 240V heaters, or
Five 750 watt, 240V heaters
For 120V Applications, one Hoot can control:
Two 750 watt, 120V heaters, or
Three 500 watt, 120V heaters
Typically, when you replace a thermostat with Hoot, the heaters will already be connected to that thermostat via one wire nut, therefore, replacing a thermostat with Hoot is as simple as finding the set of wires that are bundled together and then connecting Hoot’s load wire to that bundle.
