The EFW-MW is a multi-wattage heater designed to be an economical, large wattage wall heater, flexible enough to heat any space. It is commonly used in apartment construction to heat rooms up to 400 square feet, or where a remote thermostat is required on a 4000 Watt-style heater. The NiChrome open-coil element dissipates heat quickly and offers multiple wattage options, tailoring the heater to a rooms’ specific heating requirements. The 4-Pole cast aluminum unit bearing motor is permanently lubricated for years of trouble-free service.

If the unit trips due to abnormal operating temperatures, thermal overload shall remain open until manually reset by turning the heater off for 15 minutes.

Engineering Specs
Contractor shall supply and install EFW-MW Series in-wall mounted forced-air electric heaters manufactured by King Electrical Mfg. Company. Heaters shall be of the wattage and voltage as indicated on the plans.
Motor: Heavy-duty cast aluminum 4 pole unit bearing, permanently lubricated with 10cc oil reservoir, 1440 RPM. Enclosed impedance protected with intake air cooling motor for increased bearing life.
Fan: High efficiency, dynamically balanced 5-blade aluminum fan. 185 CFM.
Multi-Wattage Elements: Element assemblies shall be constructed of coiled Nickel Chromium alloy, corrosion-resistant wire strung through a minimum of four rows of mica insulator. Element assemblies shall have factory provided connection to allow field modification to select from available wattages.
Thermal Overload: Heaters shall be equipped with King’s patented thermal overload Smart Limit Protection®, which disconnects elements and motor in the event normal operating temperatures are exceeded. If thermal overload trips due to abnormal operating temperatures, thermal overload shall remain open until manually reset by turning the heater off for 15 minutes.
Wall-box: 20 gauge electro-galvanized steel with factory installed ground-wire. Minimum 4”clearance to floors and 6” to sidewalls. Zero clearance to insulation in the wall. Recommended 10” clearance to floors and 16” to sidewalls.
Grill: 20 gauge steel finished in a gloss white, powder-coated paint. Optional Almond color.
Options: 1-Pole or 2-Pole built-in thermostat 45-80°F operating range, retrofit grill, and surface wall-box.
