KBU PlatinumX is a zero-clearance plenum-rated freeze-protection heater approved for use in concealed areas of buildings such as an area between a finished ceiling and drop ceiling or in an open plenum. KBU PlatinumX fits seamlessly into tight spaces where warmth or freeze protection is required. It is engineered to withstand dirty, dusty, or even mildly corrosive environments, and rated for zero clearance mounting against surfaces.
Featuring an in-built electronic thermostat for accuracy and comes standard with a provision for adding an optional 24V thermostat for remote temperature control, making it compatible with Nest Thermostats or Building Management System Integration.
Spiral finned steel elements and high CFM ensure even air distribution producing cooler element operation, prolonging heater life. By combining the highest quality components, with a dynamically balanced fan blade, the KBU PlatinumX will provide years of trouble-free service.
Upgrade by adding the optional ECO PRO Controller, which is a Remote Thermostat, featuring a 7-day programmable heating schedule that puts personalized comfort right at your fingertips. This advanced scheduling function allows users to set different heating profiles for each day of the week, aligning comfort with daily routines while optimizing energy efficiency.
The optional ECO PRO Controller is also compatible with optional wireless RF window/door and occupancy sensors, automatically setting back temperatures when windows are open or when the room is unoccupied.

Engineering Specs
Contractor shall supply and install KBU Platinum X BMS Series unit heaters manufactured by King Electrical Mfg. Company. Heaters shall be of the wattage and voltage as indicated on the plans.
Construction: All exterior and interior enclosure components are fabricated from 20-gauge electrogalvanized steel with a rust-inhibiting baked enamel finish. Components are assembled using solid mechanical rivets rather than spot welding, eliminating heat-affected zones and hidden weld defects. Riveted joints are fully visible and inspectable, providing consistent structural integrity under vibration and thermal cycling. Smooth rounded corners provide a clean, modern appearance.
PlatinumX Electronic Thermostat Control: Thermostat Temperature Range: 40℉ to 95℉. Up, down temperature mode. Start/Stop. Standard on all heaters. Models 5kW and below + 3PH models offer 1-stage heating. 7.5 & 10kW (1-PH Models) offer 2-Stage Heating.
Provision For 24V Remote Thermostat: Includes terminals to connect an optional 24V Thermostat or BMS system. Compatible with NEST / any 24V WIFI Stat / 5-Wire BMS Systems.

Totally Enclosed Fan Motor: Permanently lubricated long life, unit bearing with 20cc of oil. Epoxy-coated motor with enclosed rotor resists moisture and corrosion for long-lasting, trouble-free operation.
Aluminum Fan Blade: Axial flow-type fan mounted directly to the motor shaft for maximum efficiency.
Primary Auto-Reset and Secondary Manual Reset Thermal Overload with Alarm: Heaters shall be equipped with a primary auto-rest type thermal cut-out that disconnects the power from the elements if an overheated condition occurs, The fan continues to run to dissipate excess heat from the element, The element is re-energized automatically when normal operating temperatures returns.
Heaters shall be equipped with a secondary push-button manual reset type thermal cut-out which disconnects elements and motor in
the event normal operating temperatures are exceeded. If thermal overload trips due to abnormal operating temperatures, thermal overload shall remain open until manually reset. TO RESET, WAIT 15 MINUTES to allow the heater to cool down, then insert press the reset button firmly until you hear a click.
An audible alarm sounds when secondary thermal overload limit trips.
Internal Controls: Magnetic contactors are standard on all 480V heaters, all 208V/1-Phase, 240V/1-Phase above 6kW, and all 3-Phase heaters.
Provision For 24V Remote Thermostat: Includes terminals to connect an optional 24V Thermostat or BMS Systems. Compatible with NEST / any 24V WIFI Stat / 5-Wire BMS Systems
Easy Installation: A hinged quick access panel located on the bottom of the heater allows for quick wiring and easy maintenance for the life of the heater. Includes universal wall/ceiling bracket for simple installation.
